Code of Honor scratched from BC Juvenile

Code of Honor, runner-up to Complexity in the Grade 1 Champagne, has been scratched from Friday’s $2 Million BC Juvenile due to a temperature, trainer Shug McGaughey said Friday morning.

Code of Honor (5-1) was the third choice on the morning line behind Game Winner and Complexity. His scratch reduces the field to 13.

McGaughey said Code of Honor left some feed and coughed a few times Friday morning. McGaughey said Code of Honor had a 103-degree temperature.

”He’d been harboring something and it came out at the right time,” MCGaughey said. “Hopefully, it won’t be a big deal and we can get him home and point to the Remsen.”

The Grade 2, $250,000 Remsenis run at Aqueduct on Dec. 1.

McGaughey said he was excited to run Code of Honor in the Juvenile.

”His works were all right on and he seemed to get down here fine,”McGaughey said.
