Saturday Woodbine recap

Tesseron was a dominant five-length winner in the third leg of the Woodbine Turf Endurance Series, traveling a mile and five-eighths under Emma Wilson. The popular gray figures to win the series when it wraps up with a 2 1/4-mile marathon optional starter Oct. 22.

After missing the break, Mr Havercamp came wide from seventh to notch his first stakes in the $125K Vice Regent, under a patient ride from Eurico Da Silva. After closing outside from left field on a course that's been kind to speed, King and His Court was a commendable second, finishing just a length behind the imposing winner.

Shakhimat, the 2016 Queen's Plate Winterbook favorite, ended a long drought when he blew away N2X/optional claimers by eight lengths after a stalking trip in a turf route. His mile and sixteenth time of 1:38.34 was a course record.

No Jackpot Hi 5 carryover, which was won outright.
