Mark Casse has a 95-94 lead over Norm McKnight atop the trainer standings. Both have lots of runners spread throughout the card.

In the G3 Valedictory Stakes, the Casse-trained Leavem in Malibu has a chance to upset the favored Melmich, who won the 2015 Valedictory and finished a chalky second in it last year to Bangkok. The latter has been in poor form of late, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him wake up in the third start of his form cycle. Casse also sends out longshot Kasseopia in the mile and three-quarter event.

The popular 10yo gelding Gentleman Jackson goes for his 21st career score in the seventh, a $12.5K claimer in which McKnight sends out Lunar Light and Reimagined.
