After sending out 98 consecutive losers since the Championship meet began on Dec. 2, trainer Jaime Mejia finally gets "off the duck" with Belle Tapisserie's wire to wire victory in the 5th race on Sunday at Gulfstream Park. Mejia had two starters in the race and would have earned the rare "platinum" duck for being 0 for 100 had Belle Tapisseries not won the maiden special weight dash for 3-year-olds. Belle Tapisserie, who earned an 87 Beyer Speed Figure in his previous start, is a son of Tapizar and was ridden to victory by Jorge Perez while breaking his maiden at the direct expense of trainer Todd Pletcher's first time starter Zippy Willy. The well bred Timber Ghost, the 7-5 "good thing" in the 5 1/2 furlong dash broke last and was not a factor in his debut..
