American All Star ($4.20) rallied on the rail to win a $30,000 claiming race for maidens in Friday's sixth race, the first leg of a 50-cent late pick four that drew a pool of $477,373.

American All Star had finished third and fifth in maiden special weight races earlier this year in his first two starts for owner and breeder Kaleem Shah and trainer Simon Callaghan.

Friday, American All Star was claimed by trainer Keith Craigmyle.

The late pick four pool was guaranteed to reach $300,000 and soared past that sum. Last Friday, the pool stalled at approximately $285,000. The track made up the difference.
