Finger Lakes has canceled its racing card on Wednesday, May 23, to conserve its horse population, the track said in a release.

This is the second Finger Lakes cancellation this year due to a lack of race-ready horses.

The track said a difficult winter kept a number of horsemen from training in early spring, which has limited the number of horses ready to race.

Racing will resume at Finger Lakes on Saturday.
