A pair of first-time starters by Munnings accounted for the two maiden special weight races for 2-year-olds Thursday night at Lone Star Park. 

Wakefield won the opener, a maiden special weight for 2-year-olds bred in Texas, and returned $4. Richard Eramia was aboard for trainer Karl Broberg. 

Eramia was aboard the other Munnings colt, Fastasiwannabe ($8), who accounted for the third race, another maiden allowance for 2-year-olds. Bret Calhoun trains the winner.
