After missing the early portion of the meet due to suspension, Da Silva has been gradually closing the gap on leading rider Rafael Hernandez, who took the fourth on We Take Checks. Hernandez leads the standings by a margin of 47-30 over the "Brazilian Blurr."
Luis Contreras doubled up to give him 19 wins, which ranks him fifth in the standings.
Leading trainer Norm McKnight went 1 for 3 on the evening. He is an impressive 28 for 57 at the meet (49 percent).
