For anyone interested, below are the trip notes I took for my personal handicapping of some of the overseas shippers racing at Belmont this weekend. They are listed in alphabetical order, and there are some abbreviations that should be easily decipherable.  

ARMORICAINE (runs in the Wonder Again on Thursday)

July 11, 2017:  good trip trk in bhind pace all the way while looking green,driving still in bhind top str w/Danzig Spring (finished 3rd) alongside keeping her in,had to switch around bhind that one to get clear then game finish,just outclosed by winner on wire,good effort

August 9, 2017:  under a hold going forward from start,kept under a strong pull trying to stay off lead out all the way,set down once into straight & took it over strongly,kicked clear,much best

Sept 13, 2017:  held up last of the 5 & betw/bhind as they raced in tight pack,clear to the inside straight & drove thru to lead,game finish but no real match for winner late,good 2nd

Oct 10, 2017:  went to lead & made her own pace all the way,set down w/her lead str & driving to finish staying gamely all the way,held on

April 15, 2018:  went up brk off last then moved up & went to lead,pace R all the way,set down straight to briefly get clear but quikly came up empty & was eased off

CALL TO MIND (runs in Belmont Gold Cup on Friday)

May 18, 2018: Gr2, winner was impressive; good trip trk in bhind leader from start,clear & driving for it from a long way out & game all the way,no match for winner & outfin 2nd,good try

Sept 30, 2017: Gr2; up w/pace out from start as winner trkd in bhind,driving top str w/challengers both sides incl winner onR,fought gamely all the way not giving in & just outfin at the end,game try

FUNNY KID (runs in Belmont Gold Cup on Friday)

April 29, 2018: Group 3; clean trip rated along off pace all the way, driving final ¼ w/ground to cover but came home strongly to close it down,good effort

November 28, 2017: Hcp, synth; good trip rated along off pace thruout,got into a drive upstr still bhind horses but got out wide to clear & came home strongly to close it down,much best

GRONKOWSKI (runs in Belmont Stakes on Saturday)

March 30, 2018, Red Burradon Stks:  (straightaway) good start but rating back & bhind horses all the way in no hurry,to openR & driving from outside 1/4,gamely forged on to front & clear late,best

March 7, 2018:  behind horses off pace early but looked a bit rank so moved out & went around them on the turn to go challenge, confidently ridden into str then set down & gamely drove to front, much best

Feb 9, 2018:  3-horse field, (straightaway) straight to lead & rating control w/o a challenge all the way,asked a bit outside the final 1/4 & got away readily,much best drifting at the end

LA SARDANE (runs in Intercontinental on Thursday)

April 16, 2017: Group 3; straight to lead & rated the pace all the way w/o pressure,set down w/her advantage w/about a 1/4 to go & finished gamely but no match for good winner late,2nd best

June 4, 2017: Group 2; perfect trip trk in bhind pacesetter all the way as field raced in single file for first 6f, moved clear & overpowered her w/good finish to take over & clear,much best

LA SIGNARE (runs in Wonder Again on Thursday)

Oct 17, 2017:  rated down onR bhind horses off pace from start,in there held up into str then had to alter around stopping pacesetter,driving & finishing gamely back onR late,outfin,good effort

November 4, 2017:  top 3 up there all the way, no closers; wide opening bend & kept up there on pace 3w,driving str & staying gamely to outfin 2nd/3rd runners late,good effort
