Five of the competitors from last month's Kentucky Turf Cup are back in the Sycamore at Keeneland, the upcoming race at the track. Attached in this post is the video of the Kentucky Turf Cup.

Although Oscar Nominated ran below form at Kentucky Downs in finishing fifth, I’m inclined to give him another try in the Sycamore. He was hampered by traffic into the first turn in the Kentucky Downs Turf Cup, getting steadied between horses, and then seemed to go through the motions thereafter. Beyond that, he may simply benefit from a change in venue. He ran one of his better races over this course in the spring when second in the Elkorn.

Stablemate Bigger Picture ran close at Kentucky Downs in finishing second, beaten a half-length by Arklow. This has been a bit of a quiet year for Bigger Picture after taking the United Nations in 2017 – though as he showed in the Kentucky Turf Cup, he can challenge in this kind of company. He is the second pick.

Arklow won the Kentucky Downs Turf Cup, though he did so with a favorable trip, missing the traffic into the first turn and saving ground around both turns. He is a legitimate horse, a consistent hard trier - just likely overbet after a nice setup last time and with talk of the Breeders’ Cup Turf potentially being in his future.
