Aqueduct cancels Monday card

Aqueduct will not race Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, due to a forecast that calls for frigid conditions, the New York Racing Association announced late Thursday afternoon.

The forecast Monday calls for a high of 20 degrees with wind chills near zero.

There will be no training Monday at Aqueduct or Belmont Park.

The $100,000 Interborough Stakes, scheduled for Monday, will now be run on Jan. 25.

Races in the condition book for Monday will be brought back as extras for next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There is a winter storm forecast for Sunday with a mixed bag of rain, sleet and snow. NYRA drew Sunday’s  eight-race card on Thursday and plans to run but will update as conditions warrant.
