Trainer Wayne Catalano last Saturday entered Liora in the Rachel Alexandra Stakes and Manny Wah in the Risen Star Stakes (both on the Feb. 16 card here at Fair Grounds) with an open mind toward their participation. But after toying with the idea of searching for other spots, Catalano said Wednesday morning that Liora will start in the Rachel Alexandra and that connections were "leaning toward running" Manny Wah in the Risen Star. Whether one fancies the pair or not in their respective races (and Manny Wah has the stronger case of the two), their presence has to be accounted for since both possess early speed. There are other front-runners in the Rachel Alexandra but the Risen Star is light on horses likely to go forward from the start.
