Spinoff, second to By My Standards in the Louisiana Derby on Saturday, is "most likely to train up to Derby" rather than squeeze in another prep, trainer Todd Pletcher informed in a text on Sunday morning.

Spinoff was second by three-quarters of a length in his 3yo stakes debut. He earned 40 points, which should be sufficient to make the Derby field.

Pletcher said Spinoff will return to his current base at the Palm Beach Downs training center in Florida on Monday.

Pletcher is a two-time winner of the Kentucky Derby, which will be held this year on May 4.
