Minks Aprise stamped herself as the leading older distaffer on the main track at Woodbine while capturing the $107K Trillium Stakes on short rest in her second start of the year. Trainer Roger Attfield said the plan is to run the powerful bay back July 22 in the G3 Ontario Matron, going the same mile and a sixteenth distance as the Trillium.

Rafael Hernandez, who rode Minks Aprise, was disqualified from third to fourth on Frosty Margaritta in the third. 

After riding Breaking Lucky last night at Churchill, Luis Contreras bagged a triple. He took the nightcap on 16-1 outsider Party At Eight for high-percentage trainer Denyse McClachrie, who was celebrating her birthday.  

Patrick Husbands doubled up. He guided Sly Beauty, the lone filly in the field, in a front-runnng score in the first 2yo maiden race on turf at the meet.

The handle was just under $3.9 million.
