Fast & firm, six turf races on tap, and the featured Grade 2 Mother Goose on the Saturday card at Belmont.
The Mother Goose brings together a pair of fillies from the Kentucky Oaks and a pair from the Black Eyed Susan mixed in wioth some interesting new faces.
Personally, I don't need the runners exiting the higher-profile races, and want only Unchained Melody (fastest on the way in following a course & distance win here vs. allowance company last month) and, especially My Miss Tapit.
My Miss Tapit os one of three for Todd Pletcher, and she has to stretch out and step up for this off a bit of a layoff, but she was impressive going 2-for-2 down at Gulfstream, and she has the look of a filly who has a chance to be a player in this division going forward. Today might be the day at a price.
The supporting feature is the Perfect Sting, for fillies and mares over a mile on turf.
Because it's a turf race in NY, Chad Brown has three, and they are all contenders.
If Conquest Babayaga, who has really improved since being moved to Brown's barn, can repeat her last race, she is likely to win. But there are other options, including one of her stablemates, Off Limits.
I'm using both, while giving preference to the latter, and am also including On Leave.
