Services for Marshall Robinson, who bred champion sprinter Groovy, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Fort Worth, Texas. The celebration of life will be held at Christ Chapel Bible Church at 3701 Birchman Ave. Robinson died Saturday at the age of 86, according to a notice posted on the website of the Texas Thoroughbred Association.
Robinson was a past president of the Texas Thoroughbred Association. Groovy was the champion sprinter of 1987. Robinson was a graduate of Texas Christian University in his native Ft. Worth who later served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, according to an obituary posted at Legacy.com. He was the founder of Robinson Roofing Company. Robinson and his wife, Mickey, maintained a Thoroughbred operation in Ft. Worth.
