Saratoga's main track, which is officially labeled "good/sealed" but seems more muddy/sealed to me, might be kind to speed today, by so far, there is no indication that the rail is better than any other path on the track.
Tarquinia was an inside speed winner of race two, the first dirt race on the card. But Jonquil, winner of the third race, disputed the pace outide of the 4-5 favorite Maddy's Way in the three path, went wider into the stretch, and then outgamed Foreign Affair, who bid outside of Jonquil after moving off the inside late on the far turn.
Do be advised that the rain has abated, at least for now, and Saratoga's main track is drying out. Whatever leanings or biases a track might have when wet might easily change as it dries out.
