Irap, who won the Indiana Derby earlier this month, and Paradise Woods, the winner of the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks in April, were among 155 recorded works at Del Mar on Friday.
Irap, who races for Paul and Zillah Reddam and trainer Doug O'Neill, is bound for the Grade 1 Travers Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 26. Friday, Irap worked a half-mile in 50.40 seconds.
This was Irap's first workout since the Indiana Derby. Earlier this year, Irap won the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland in April and the Ohio Derby at Thistledown in June. He was 18th in the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on May 6.
Paradise Woods worked six furlongs in 1:13. Owned by Marty and Pam Wygod and Steve Sarkowsky, Paradise Woods has not raced since finishing 11th in the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs on May 5.
Trainer Richard Mandella said on Friday that Paradise Woods is being considered for two races - the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks at 1 1-8 miles on turf on Aug. 19 or the Grade 3 Torrey Pines Stakes at a mile on dirt on Aug. 27. Mandella said he was leaning toward the Torrey Pines Stakes.
