Dangerously Close (5) will start for the second time afer a layoff in Friday's fourth race, an optional claimer for California-bred fillies and mares at six furlongs.
The filly's speed can make a difference.
Dangerously Close won her debut at Santa Anita in March, leading throughout a race at 6 1-2 furlongs. She contracted pneumonia after that race and was given a break at owner John Harris's farm in Coalinga, Calif. in the spring.
In her comeback at Los Alamitos on July 6, Dangerously Close was part of the pace and faded to finish fourth, 5 3-4 lengths behind winner Alpenhorn. The experience should help Dangerously Close, who is part of a field of eight in Friday's fourth race.
With 22 minutes to post, Dangerously Close is the 2-1 second choice.
