Ridden by Edwin Maldonado, Medaglia Gold led throughout and was never threatened, beating 4-5 favorite Tequila Sunrise by 3 3-4 lengths in 1:37.21.
Medaglia Gold was sixth and seventh in maiden special weight races at 4 1-2 furlongs and five furlongs at Santa Anita in May and June. For Saturday's race, Medaglia Gold was fitted with blinkers for the first time.
The Kentucky-bred filly races for Larry and Marianne Williams.
Medaglia Gold is a half-sister to Mei Ling, who won 4 of 22 starts and earned $522,383. She won minor stakes at Monmouth Park in 2015 and Aqueduct in 2016.
