Domestic Vintage ($20.40) rallied through the stretch to catch 3-2 favorite Lady Mamba in the final furlong and win Saturday's seventh race for maidens on turf, the first leg of a rich 50-cent pick four.
The pick four pool reached $1,294,375, a big pool but shy of the track record of more than $1.4 million set last August on Pacific Classic day. Track chief operating officer Josh Rubenstein said the pick four pool on Saturday was the second-highest in track history.
Domestic Vintage was the third consecutive longshot in what could be a seemingly impossible pick six. The winners of the first two legs were Medgalia Gold ($21) and Bernina Star ($32.20). The $1 pick three ending with Domestic Vintage paid $2,339.50.
The pick six pool was $302,284. The carryover in the single ticket jackpot at the start of Saturday's program was $282,976.
