Del Mar: First-time starter One Fast Broad wins debut

One Fast Broad ($6) rallied wide to win Friday's fourth race for California-bred maiden 2-year-old fillies in her debut, running six furlongs in 1:14.15. The time was slow, and was confirmed via hand-time by official timer Russ Hudak.

Trained by Mick Ruis, One Fast Broad was ridden by Corey Nakatani and finished a half-length in front of 16-1 Into Rissa.

One Fast Broad was the first winner of the meeting for Ruis with his 15th starter. Ruis owns his stable with his wife, Wendy, as Ruis Racing.

One Fast Broad is by the late stallion Decarchy and is a full-sister to the three-time stakes winner Awesome Return, who earned $424,858.
