Scottish, who appeared to have an excellent chance to win the Arlington Million on Satruday for Godolphin, trainer Charlie Appleby, and jockey William Buick, won't get to run in the race after coming up lame following a Thursday workout at Arlington.
Appleby, quoted on Godolphin's web site, said Scottish appeared to have reinjured his right-front fetlock, an injury that kept him out of an intended start in Australia last fall. Scottish had been slated to return to Australia this year for a run in the Cox Plate, but he won't race again in 2017.
"The good news is that long terrm the prognosis is good. All going well, he should be right to race again early next year in Dubai."
