Thermistor, the New York-bred "from Texas" who won Colorado's richest race last Sunday, could see action next in either Kentucky or Oklahoma.
Thermistor won the $100,000 Gold Rush Futurity at Arapahoe Park in his most recent out to improve his career record to 2-for-2. Trainer J.R. Caldwell said Wednesday that the horse could make his next start in either the $350,000 Kentucky Downs Juvenile, a seven furlong turf race Sept. 2, or the $75,000 Kip Deville over six furlongs Sept. 24 at Remington Park.
"The Kip Deville at Remington is a logical spot," Caldwell said. "It's five weeks coming off Colorado, and we'd be at our home base at Remington."
Thermistor is now based at Remington after winning his debut in a maiden special weight July 15 at Lone Star Park near Dallas. He is a son of Frost Giant and he races for Caldwell and the Texas-based Mojo Racing Partners.
