Race 3: (7) Woodbridge Miss and (10) Oh Lady Luck.

There is a $76,011 carryover in the Jackpot High 5 in the last race. If it isn’t taken down tonight, and with a 7-horse field it is hard to imagine a single winning ticket, there will be a mandatory payout tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the biggest day of the year at Northlands with the Grade 3, $150,000 Canadian Derby headlining a 12-race card that includes four Thoroughbred Stakes and the Alberta Stallion Stakes for Quarter Horses.

Eight horses are entered in the 1 3/8 miles Derby, but it shapes up as a battle between Trooper John, easily the best local 3-year-old, and invaders Chief Know It All and Aqua Frio.
