Shakem Bye Perry was the fastest qualifer on Day 1 of trials for the $3 million All American Futurity. There were 14 qualifying races run on the card Friday at Ruidoso Downs, with another 14 trials set for Saturday. The horses with the five fastest times from each program earn a spot in the starting gate for the finale on Sept. 4. 

Shakem Bye Perry ($10.60) won the sixth race, with four of the five fastest qualifiers coming from the first six trials, according to a press release from Ruidoso Downs. Shakem Bye Perry covered 440 yards in 21.66 seconds, winning by a length and a quarter under Omar Reyes.
