As you can tell by my value line, I don't have a particularly strong opinion in this year's Travers. GIRVIN (6) was good to me in the Haskell at Monmouth, and I think he has a legitimate chance to win this year's Travers at a square price. He's in form (which is more than can be said about the majority of this field) and could still take a step forward here today. IRAP (10) is the most improved horse of this three-year-old crop, and it's possible that he's peaking at the right time for the Mid-Summer Derby. They'll be my two main plays in the Travers; I'm hoping for a repeat of this year's Ohio Derby...hopefully with Girvin getting the better of the photo finish this time!
