Speed more effective today?

Speed was a liability on the Tapeta yesterday, for the most part, perhaps in part because of a strong east wind.

Overnight rain tightened the track up, and the 11-1 outsider Daddy's Great Bay led all the way in the opener, a mile and a sixteenth allowance for distaffers.
