The closely related fillies Carpathia (3) and Carrie's Success (6) will have their first starts in Sunday's ninth race for California-bred 2-year-old maiden fillies at 5 1-2 furlongs.
The fillies are owned by breeder Nick Alexander and trained by Phil D'Amato and come from a successful female line.
Carpathia is out of Melinda Rose, the dam of Carrie's Rose. Carrie's Success is the first foal out of Carrie's Rose.
Melinda Rose won 2 of 7 starts and earned $63,765. She has produced five six-figure winners including Carrie Rose, who won 4 of 33 starts and earned $216,795.
Carrie Rose was stakes-placed. She was claimed for $32,000 from Alexander in October, 2012. In May, 2013, Alexander claimed Carrie Rose for $8,000 at Hollywood Park. Carrie Rose did not race again.
She was bred to Successful Appeal in early 2014. The resulting foal is Carrie Rose.
Carpathia and Carrie's Success are both 5-1 on the morning-line. Goodlooknbroad (10) is the 7-2 favorite on the morning-line, following second and fourth-place finishes at Del Mar earlier this summer.
