Ikerrin Road benefited from what appears to be a golden rail on the Tapeta at Woodbine today, upsetting in the Grade 3 Bold Venture Stakes.
Ikerrin Road ($12.00) stalked the leader, Boreal Spirit, in the early going and tipped out to the two-wide path for the stretch run. He went on to win by 1 1/4-lengths in a final time of 1:15.40 for 6 1/2-furlongs.
It was the first career stakes score for Ikerrin Road, who was claimed by trainer Vito Armata and owner Alpine Stable for $32,000 back in May. He's now won three of his six starts for his new connections.
Boreal Spirit, who rode the rail on the lead, held on for second, while Majestic Slew was third.
