The Tabulator improved his record to three for three in winning the Grade 3 Iroquois at Churchill on Saturday - though one gets the feeling he might still be even better than what he showed in this race, his first route.
Wandering all over the racetrack in the stretch, either from losing focus (my belief) or fatigue, he lasted to win by a little less than a length over favored Hollywood Star.
The latter also ran well, overcoming a slow start to close the margin late. He was clear of third-place Ten City, who came under an early drive and essentially only passed tired horses.
The winner, trained by Larry Rivelli and ridden by Jose Valdivia, completed 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.50, paying $10.40.
