Lane 4 and firm (11.3 GS) for the turf on another gorgeous day in Toronto.
The Chad Brown-trained New Yorker Inflexibility will stake her claim for Canadian champion 3yo filly honors as the favorite in the $125K Carotene Stakes. She lowered the 10-furlong course record when taking her last local outing in the Wonder Where Stakes, after which she ran fourth behind the future G1 winner La Coronel in the G2 Sands Point at Belmont.
Silent Sonet, fresh off a blowout score in the Ontario-sired La Prevoyante Stakes, should be the main threat. Mythical Mission is the other obvious secondary contender in the nine-furlong turf route for Ontario-breds.
Tesseron and Sine Metu head the final leg of the Woodbine Turf Endurance Series, going about 2 1/4 miles.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover is $22K.
