Journeyman Alan Garcia capped a four-win day by taking the nighcap on 5-1 shot Sam's Cross, who ran the race of her life in just her second turf start in the NW2 OS allowance/$40K claimer.
Garcia also swept races 5-7 on Rockport Dancer, Gray Phantom and Twentytwentycrest. The all-Garcia Pick 3 paid $52.90.
Trainer Marty Drexler doubled up with Gray Phantom and venerable mare Casablanca Kiss, who popped on the drop to $32K. She was ridden by Luis Contreras, who also captured the featured NW3 OS allowance on Roxy Red.
The handle on the nine-race card was $2.755 million.
There's lots of rain in the forecast for tomorrow, which means the turf races could be in jeopardy.
