The Breeders' Cup may still be six days away, but the Bold Ruler at Belmont today is a dandy. SEYMOURDINI (9) enters the Bold Ruler with the gaudiest of Beyers in his back-pocket; he earned a 113 Beyer Speed Figure in the State Dinner back in July, but he needs to prove that he can sit off horses and pass.

DIVINING ROD (11) deserves to be the favorite here based on his overall body of work. He's a rock solid runner that's unfortunately been hindered by injury throughout his career, but Arnaud Delacour seems to have Divining Rod in career form at the moment. He projects to work out a stalk-and-pounce type of trip here.

STALLWALKIN' DUDE (7) is as cool as racehorses come, dancing every dance and giving everything he's got each and every time. Seven furlongs may not be his ideal distance, but it's not as though he's incompetent at the 7/8ths distance.

If you're looking for a price, perhaps TALE OF S'AVALL (1) is one to consider. Tale of S'avall was forced to press the pace set by Drefong in the Forego at Saratoga - a running style that took him out of his game. With the other speed signed on today, look for him to sit a few lengths off the pace and make a run rounding the far turn.
