Full-sisters trained by Josie Carroll, Early Light and Moonlit Promise, stole the show on this blustery afternoon.
Early Light was a professional debut winner in the fifth, a six-furlong maiden special for 2yo fillies, in which she covered the distance in a quick 1:10.06, about a second slower Moonlit Promise.
Moonlit Promise won her second consecutive stakes in the G3 Ontario Fashion, after mounting a wide bid from sixth under Gary Boulanger, who scored a hat-trick on the card. The favored New Yorker Stormy Victoria was steadied along the rail in the stretch behind a tiring Southern Ring, who was demoted from fourth to seventh in a somewhat controversial disqualification.
The good-working first-timer Tishina accomplished quite a feat by winning a two turn OS maiden special/$40K claimer by three lengths under Emma Wilson. The 3-year-old gelding by Silent Name could have a productive future in the OS ranks.
The Jackpot Hit 5 carryover heading into Sunday is $21K.
