A cloudy, mild day in Toronto, without much wind.
Mr Havercamp will be odds-on against older Ontario-sired opposition in the $125K Sir Barton Stakes. It will be the double stakes winner's first synthetic track excursion since his triumphant debut, and another victory would boost his chances for Canadian champion male 3yo honors. Kingsport, the 2015 Sir Barton winner, appears to be sitting on a peak performance in the fifth race of his form cycle.
Divisional honors could also be on the line in the $100K Display Stakes, in which G3 Grey winner Archaggelos will lock horns with the talented local 2yos Admiralty Pier and Sable Island.
Trainer Michael Dickinson is thrilled with the way the Maryland-based Archaggelos has trained here this week on the Tapeta. Admiralty Pier rallied five-wide Nov. 11 to lose a fast seven-furlong allowance by a nose to the speedy Sable Island, who's going long for the first time and could have distance limitations. Marcus is a longshot possibility.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover is nearly $136K.
