Saturday's Caribe card a tough act to follow but there are 10 races on the Sunday program to close out the first full week of the Championship meeting. Three of those races, the 5th, 6th and last have been taken off the turf and moved to the main track, each now to be decided at 7 furlongs. The main track is listed as fast and the turf "good". Temperatures are unseasonably cold with a pretty stiff wind out of the north which means a tailwind down the stretch.
The co-featured 3rd race offers up a potential single in the early Pick 5 with Giuseppe the Great likely to go postward a prohibitive favorite. Would save a bit, however, with in form Flemish Cap who looks loose on the lead from the rail.
The featured 8th event remains on the turf but lost some of its lustre with the scratches of the inside three horses including likely favorite English Minister.
Scratches:
2nd 13
5th off turf 2,5,8,10,12
6th off turf 3,6,7,8,9,10,16
8th 1,2,3
10th off turf 1,7
