Only one early scratch on the card (#6 Taoiseach in race #6), which features a pick six carryover beginning in race 3.  

The card kicks off with a heavy favorite in the 1st race (coming up in about 10 minutes), for NY-bred maidens over a mile, and which drew a field of only five.  

In the 2nd I want to try Shoot the Gap off the claim.  He has the figures to be competitive with these horses, was in contention in deep stretch two back before clipping the heels of the carelessly-handled winner and falling, and he was bumped twice at the start last time, before chasing on a dead rail.  

The 3rd features the $2 million colt Marconi making his second career start for Pletcher.  He raced greenly in his debut after a poor start and does seem likely to improve for that experience with blinkers on this time.  If he doesn't step forward, perhaps Mathematician can pull off an upset.  Mathematician has run well in his first two starts, both on turf, and both while showing some speed.  He is by Quality Road, and his dam has dropped a couple of horses who won on dirt in Germany.
