For the first time at Santa Anita, there is a carryover in the $1 super high five in the first race of a program.

This winter, Santa Anita is offering rolling super high five wagers on all races with seven or more starters. The bet was not hit in the final race on Tuesday, leading to a carryover of $28,818 in Friday's first race - a maiden claimer at six furlongs. 

(At past meetings, the bet was offered only on the day's final race).

With an hour to post, the first race has eight runners following the scratch of Thankful Every Day (1). Chriscookin (4) is likely to be favored.
