Peace, a colt by Violence, won for the first time in his third start in a maiden race at 1 1-16 miles in Saturday's third race.
Ridden by Mike Smith, Peace ($3.40) closed from fourth in the final three furlongs to finish three-quarters of a length in front of Regulate, a Quality Road colt. Restoring Hope, a promising colt by Giant's Causeway, faded to finish third after leading in early stretch.
Peace was timed in 1:46.42 on a track that has produced slow times in recent days. Owned by B. Wayne Hughes and Town and Country Farm and trained by Richard Mandella, Peace was second in his first two starts - a six-furlong maiden race here in September and a one-mile race at Del Mar on Nov. 23.
