Lone Star Park has announced the date for the Steve Sexton Mile, the former Texas Mile that was renamed last year to honor the late, longtime member of the track's management team. The Grade 3, $200,000 race will be run on May 6.

The Steve Sexton Mile is for 3-year-olds and up on the main track. Last year, Mor Spirit won the race and one start later captured the Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap on Belmont Stakes Day. 

Lone Star Park has not yet released its entire stakes schedule for the meet that opens in April. The Steve Sexton Mile was the co-richest race of the meet last year, alongside the Grade 3, $200,000 Lone Star Park Handicap.
