Sonneteer ($61.60) upset the $125,000 Fifth Season Stakes on Friday at Oaklawn Park, when he rallied to win over Futile and third-place finisher Far Right. 

The race was the first stakes of the meet that opened Friday. 

C.J. McMahon was aboard for Calumet Farm and trainer Keith Desormeaux. 

Sonneteer was among a planeload of 17 horses that flew in from Southern California on Wednesday, according to Officials with Oaklawn. He covered the mile and a sixteenth on a track rated good in 1:45.20.
