Roy H, the winner of the Breeders' Cup Sprint at Del Mar in November, worked six furlongs in 1:14.20 at Santa Anita on Wednesday in preparation for an expected start in the Grade 2 Palos Verdes Stakes on Feb. 3.
The $200,000 Palos Verdes Stakes at six furlongs would be Roy H's first start since the BC Sprint.
Instilled Regard, the winner of the Lecomte Stakes at Fair Grounds on Jan. 13, worked a half-mile in 47.80 seconds. Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said Instilled Regard is on schedule for a start in the Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes at 1 1-16 miles for 3-year-olds at Fair Grounds on Feb. 17.
What a View, who won the Grade 1 Frank Kilroe Mile in 2016, worked a half-mile in 49.40 seconds. Unraced since finishing seventh in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile last June, the 7-year-old What a View could run in the Grade 3 Daytona Stakes on the hillside turf course on Feb. 24 as a prep for the $400,000 Frank Kilroe Mile on March 10.
Mongolian Saturday, the winner of the BC Turf Sprint at Keeneland in 2015, worked a half-mile in 49.20 seconds. Trained by Enebish Ganbat, Mongolian Saturday has not raced since finishing 12th in the BC Turf Sprint at Keeneland in November.
