Trainer William E. Morey won for the seventh time with his 12th starter at the winter-spring meeting when Uber Star rallied late to win Friday's first race for $40,000 claimers at a mile on turf.

Uber Star ($9.60) was the fourth choice in a field of seven.

Morey, who is tied for second in the trainer's standings through Friday's first race, does not have any more starters on Friday's program, but he will be active on Saturday. He runs the maiden claimer Black Site in the fifth race and Rye in the $200,000 Unusual Heat Turf Classic, the day's eighth race.
