Pali High (6) has been withdrawn from Sunday's ninth race after the colt was erroneously given Lasix earlier in the day.
Pali High was not supposed to receive the anti-bleeder medication from a third party veterinarian not associated with trainer Leonard Powell. The administration of the medication will result in an investigation by the California Horse Racing Board, according to steward Kim Sawyer.
When entries were taken on Thursday, Pali High was the only horse among the 14 entered not scheduled to receive Lasix.
The third party administration of Lasix began at the start of the current Santa Anita winter-spring meeting on Dec. 26.
