Ready to Confess will be seeking her second straight stakes win in the upcoming Grade 3, $400,000 Houston Ladies Classic at Sam Houston. She will break from the rail under under David Cabrera, who is the current leading rider at Oaklawn.

“Her last race she was just off the pace and I think most of her races she’s either been on the pace or just off of it, and I would expect a similar trip,” said Donnie Von Hemel, who trains Ready to Confess. “There are a number of fillies in the race that have similar form.

“David has ridden down there the past few years and been very successful. We’ll probably just leave it in his hands.”

Ready to Confess enters the Houston Ladies Classic off a two and three-quarter length victory in the $100,000 She’s All In on Dec. 17 at Remington Park. It was the first career stakes victory for Ready to Confess, who races for her breeder, Pin Oak Stable.

“I think it was a very important to her to become a stakes winner, not just stakes-placed, with her pedigree,” said trainer Donnie Von Hemel.  “Her mother’s a Grade 1 winner.

“I think she’s a bit unlucky that she hasn’t been a graded stakes winner to this point. As a 3-year-old she was graded stakes-placed a couple of times.”
