Santa Anita: West Coast works for expected Dubai trip

West Coast, the champion 3-year-old male of 2017 who was second in the $16 million Pegasus World Cup at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 27, worked a half-mile in 46.60 seconds.

The workout is part of West Coast's preparation for an expected start in the $10 million Dubai World Cup at Meydan Racecourse in the United Arab Emirates on March 10. As of Saturday, West Coast was the 3-1 favorite with British boomakers for the Dubai World Cup.

Trained by Bob Baffert for Gary and Mary West, West Coast has had two workouts since the Pegasus World Cup. West Coast worked three furlongs in 36.60 seconds on Feb. 11.
