Synchrony ($11) mowed down tiring rivals while rallying from well behind a strong pace to win the Grade 3, $150,000 Fair Grounds Handicap over favored Mr. Misunderstood. Ridden by Joe Bravo for trainer Mike Stidham and owner-breeder Pin Oak Farm, Synchrony was making his first start since May 27 - and looked very good in so doing. He was timed in 1:48.82 for about 1 1/8 miles on a firm course. Longshot Tiz A Slam was a distant third.
