The price won't be right but it just might be worth tuning in to upcoming race 2 at Santa Anita to watch Justify to see if he can -- ahem -- justify the high hopes for him.
He's well thought of at the barn and the clocker reports have held him in high regard. The racing office had trouble rounding up enough horses to make the race go at entry time, so the word is out, as many trainers wanted to avoid him. Only four are entered against him, including Show Time Rocket, who, like Justify, is trained by Bob Baffert.
It's tough to go seven furlongs first time out, and the price is absurd, but Baffert has done OK the past couple of years with 3yos who didn't race at 2 and weren't quite ready for the Derby (i.e., Arrogate and West Coast).
