In an effort to beat an expected rainstorm, there were 287 recorded works at Santa Anita on Thursday, including several notable names. This was a much higher number than a typical weekday.
Roy H, the champion sprinter fo 2017, workd five furlongs in 1:00.20 for a scheduled start in the Grade 1 Triple Bend Stakes at seven furlongs on March 10. Paradise Woods, a two-time Grade 1 winner last year, worked the same distance in 1:02.20 for the Grade 2 Santa Monica Stakes on March 24.
Midnight Bisou worked three furlongs in 39.60. The 3-year-old filly starts in Satuday's Grade 3 Santa Ysabel Stakes.
Lombo, who won the Robert Lewis Stakes last month, worked a half-mile from the gate in 49.60 seconds for the Grade 2 San Felipe STakes on March 10.
The Chilean-bred Full of Luck, a five-time group stakes winner in that South American country, worked five furlongs from the gate in 1:01.20. He will have his American debut in early spring, trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said.
